Caxton House Time BankBuilding Stronger Communities Who are we? The concept of a time bank (TB) is based on the idea that everyone in thecommunity has a skill or talent to offer. It coordinates the exchange of these skills by putting people in touch with others interested in them. For every hour spent helping someone, 1 time credit is earned, these can then be spent on any of the skills offered by other members.Credits earned can be used immediately, saved up or even donated. All ages and abilities are welcome. Apart from the direct help provided, members benefit by getting to know others from their local area.
We have members offering help in a wide variety of areas that include filming, recycling, gardening, research, shopping, guided walks, languages and befriending skills as well as a number of career development subjects like computer training, book keeping and marketing and media relations. Guided walks: Our TB members have been organising walks on a fortnightly basis for most of this year so far. They are open to all time bankers (and their friends) from around the capital. This is a great opportunity to meet new members and have a healthier life style. The Islington Time Bank Network (ITBN) Intergenerational Project has been operating successfully since March 2007. The aim of the project is to encourage local residents from different age groups to come together through voluntary activity, providing services that benefit their local community. Environmental group activities have been organised focusing on Estates and Parks in the north of the borough. When?Monday & Wednesday 8:30am - 4:30pm
